Tigger Loves to Bounce

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

10/29/04 - Tigger loves to bounce!

Tigger, Leah and Daddy11/14/04 - Leah used the potty today! After months of talking about it and practicing, Leah became a "big girl" today when she asked to use the potty, sat on it, and within five minutes had gone #1 and #2! It wasn't a baby potty, but a real adult toilet with a padded child's seat. Afterwards, Leah danced around in delight saying "I did it, I did it!" We let her wear panties for several hours after that and she used the potty two more times without any accidents! Hooray! As promised, we will be taking her to Disney World as her reward. We look forward to telling her teachers about her big achievement tomorrow, and working with Leah and her school to completely graduate her from diapers.

We went to Disney World the following Saturday. Here is Leah with her good pal Tigger and daddy.

Leah 2/14/042/14/05 - Happy Valentine's Day! Leah loves being three. She spends three half-days a week at preschool and two half-days with mom and little sister at Mom and Me Fitness Classes. Leah is popular with her friends and enjoys so many things. Once a week, she takes a ballet & tap class after school, which she loves! She's also taking swim lessons 1-2 times a week through her school and she loves that, too. In a few weeks, we're thinking of adding cheerleading. In the afternoons, she plays independently on her computer and with her toys while we work on our computers nearby. She's very patient so long as we "take a break" together every hour or so. Potty training is going great! "Accidents" are rare and only seem to come when we forget to take her often enough. Leah can brush her own teeth and looks forward to her second dental checkup tomorrow. Leah can tell you her age and spell her name. She communicates very well and has become much better at using the telephone. She can identify all letters of the alphabet and single digits. She counts objects up to twenty and can do simple addition. She likes watching daddy cook. Leah is happy, outgoing, thoughtful and affectionate.

March 1, 2005 - Leah is 3.5 years old. She's in an "older 2's" preschool class because she missed the birthday cut-off by six weeks. We had our first teacher's conference yesterday and learned that Leah is doing great at her new school! We were handed a two-page checklist and nearly everything was checked as mastered. The teacher described Leah as a child that is liked by everyone, who interacts with the group, thinks before she speaks, is confident, tries new things, and is one of the smartest kids in the class. The teacher said she really enjoys having Leah in her class. Two small areas that need improvement are sharing (although it was noted that she's gotten better) and resolving problems on her own (which the teacher said is not expected at this age).

Leah First Performance

3/6/05 - Leah was in her first school performance today! Each class performed two songs on stage. In Leah's class, the girls were Pink Ladies and the boys were T-Birds celebrating the 1950's. They sang and danced "The Twist" and "Lollipop."

Check out two videos of her performance!
