HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 10/9/05 - We had Leah's 4th birthday party at The Little Gym again. It was a huge birthday bash for 28+ kids! We were delighted that so many people could join us. It was 90 minutes of gym fun, pizza and cake. This year's theme was Disney Princesses and we had two cakes to feed the group. Leah got a bunch of awesome birthday presents, too! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
10/31/05 - Halloween came after Hurricane Wilma this year. Rebekah & Leah were both Sleeping Beauty. With street lights out and debris piled everywhere, we decided to try something different this year. We went to the Coral Square Mall, which opened for the first time today, for their published Halloween event. Unfortunately, the place was overly crowded and almost all the stores donned signs saying "sorry, no more candy." The few stores with candy had long lines snaking around. There was no entertainment and few decorations. We made the best of it, though, and walked through to the carousel. A minute after the ride started, the power went out. A roar of screams filled the mall and Leah clung to me. Two minutes later, the power resumed. The carousel continued silently for a few minutes more. Afterwards, we navigated the crowd back to our car with four pieces of candy in Leah's bucket. Upon returning home, I hastily decorated the front door, turned on the lights, and greeted a few trick-or-treaters for an hour.

10/17/05 - Leah had her 4-year-old check-up today. She was an excellent patient, the doctor said. Everything checked out great. She was 35 pounds (50th percentile) and 3'2" high (25th percentile). Her temperature was 98.4 F and her vision test was a perfect 20-20. Her blood pressure was normal, too.
10/17/05 - Leah handed me this picture a few days ago. She said, "Look mommy, it's an octopus." She pointed out that it has eight legs, a tail and no ears. What a great picture! 11/29/05 - Leah's drawings are so much fun! Today, she handed me this picture on the right and said it was a picture of Rebekah.
12/24/05 - Leah is ready to cook holiday desert with daddy! |
